The sign in front of our church reads "ALL ARE WELCOME.” This simple message is a constant reminder to us of the good news that Jesus Christ welcomes us into new fellowship with God and one another. So, YOU are welcome to join us to discover and employ your gifts in service to Christ and the world God loves.

UPDATE ON PASTOR SEARCH
Northside Baptist, a CBF church where “All Are Welcome,” is in the process of seeking a new senior pastor. We are located in Clinton, Mississippi, a college town outside of Jackson. Our Clinton public schools are academically the best in the state. Nearly 50 years ago, we started as a ministry to our neighborhood and we are still trying to be a good presence here. Our congregation is theologically diverse and happily open to all people. We have several Baptist “legends” in our congregation and we have a beautiful youth facility, so there’s a place for everyone. The Pastor Search Committee has been hard at work reading applications and sermon manuscripts, and, in various other ways, getting to know a group of diverse candidates better. We are now focusing on several impressive candidates and will be conducting interviews shortly. Through it all, we seek the Spirit’s guidance and appreciate your support, prayers, and patience as we do this important work.

Season of Lent
Beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending on the eve of Easter, Lent is a season of prayer, penitence, fasting, and almsgiving. These are ancient Christian practices of restoration. They are aimed at restoring relationships with God and with our communities, relationships we have broken through sin. In Northside’s Ash Wednesday service, we impose ashes on one another’s foreheads and repeat the words, “Remember you are dust, and to dust you will return. Repent and receive the gospel.”
Lenten Banner – The three banners represent the bold call to Lent, the journey to the cross, and finally the invitation to prayer. The color purple is the color of preparation and also of repentance.
