Worship Committee

Our worship services are centered on God.  A different member, male or female, young or old, reads the scriptures during each service.  All scriptures, hymns, and liturgies are correlated with the sermon.  We stand to hear the Gospel reading because we want to be alert to the teachings and the life of Jesus.  We also try to sing a variety of hymns, drawing from the deep well of our tradition and reaching into new expressions of faith.  Worship unites us with God's people around the globe and across the ages, so our calendar is marked by the ancient seasons of the church -- Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, and Pentecost.  We take communion once a month, and the table is open to all who feel led to participate.
