The dedicated staff at Northside Baptist Church

Minister of Music - Jamie Meaders

Jamie Meaders has been minister of music at Northside since 2001. He is also Chair and Director of Choral Activities of the music department at Mississippi College. A church musician since 1983, Jamie assists in planning worship and directs the Chancel Choir.

Before moving to Clinton in 1998, Jamie was minister of music at First Baptist Church, Chattanooga, Tennessee. He earned the Doctor of Musical Arts in conducting and voice from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. Jamie and his wife, Lesa, attend Northside with their three children, Andrew, Leah, and Brantley. The Meaders also raise dogs (the number varies from day to day) and horses.

Minister of Family Life - Susan Meadors

Susan Meadors is married to John, who is on the Christian Studies and Philosophy faculty at Mississippi College. They are the parents of Samuel, Joseph, and Mary Louise, all of whom attended youth camp together this summer for the first time. She is a 1988 graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville and a 1981 graduate of Baylor University. She served two years in Japan, and she was ordained by Northside Baptist Church in 2000.

Susan Meadors is the second-longest tenured staff member in Northside history (behind Mack Muriel). She has served for fourteen years in two different capacities, first as Youth Minister. For the past six years she has been Minister of Family Life. She shepherds our children's ministry and our educational ministry. She also helps our Family Life Committee as they support all of our celebrations and gatherings. Susan is deeply involved in all aspects of our worship and service, working with artists and liturgists during Advent and Lent, leading a yearly women's retreat, convening Companions in Christ groups, and leading our weekly Prayer Ministry.

Pastor - Stan Wilson

Stan has been the pastor of Northside since July of 2002. He is married to Jennifer, a high school math teacher, and they are the parents of Jane (6) and Kate (3). The Wilsons have recently moved to a small farm in the community where they are trying to learn how to grow their own food and eat well. They pretty much don't know what they are doing, so they are also learning how to be dependent on the gifts of a larger community.

Stan is an endorser and board member of the Ekklesia Project, an ecumenical network of pastors, scholars, and lay leaders seeking to serve the church and help Christians remember their calling to radical discipleship within the Body of Christ. He is a 1994 graduate of the Duke University Divinity School and a 1986 graduate of Furman University. He was ordained by the Watts Street Baptist Church in Durham, NC in 1994.

Before coming to Northside Stan was associate pastor for Students and Community Ministries at Northminster Baptist Church in Jackson, and he has a long association with Camp Rockmont in Black Mountain, NC. The Wilsons like to hike, read, throw frisbees, share meals, and shell peas.

Secretary - Alicia Butler

Alicia Butler joined the staff at Northside in September of 2006. A native of Jackson, she attended Jackson Prep and MSU (go dawgs!), where she received a degree in Church Music.  Alicia loves to sing and is active in the Mississippi Opera, Jackson Choral Society, Memphis Vocal Arts Ensemble and in the church choir at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.  Her husband is Jimmy Butler, and they have one four-legged child, Dexter, a beautiful black lab they got from Jamie Meaders.  She also spends her time as a Mary Kay consultant, loves playing all kinds of games (especially Wii), and listening to an eclectic mix of music-- country, 80's metal, folk, and classical.

Custodian - Mack Murriel

Mack Murriel has been on the staff of Northside Baptist Church since 1980. He is also a chef and a member of the food services staff at Mississippi College, where he has worked in various capacities for forty years. He is married to Virgie, and together they also prepare Wednesday Night Suppers once per month (by far the highest attended meals). They are the parents of Mark and Troy and are faithful members of New Pilgrim's Rest Baptist Church.

Organist - Jo Ann Pope

Jo Ann has been church organist for about thirteen years. She minored in organ and received the Master of Arts Degree in English from Mississippi College. She and her husband, Bradley, have lived in Clinton since 1963.

The organ is one of the oldest musical instruments and has been called "the king of instruments" because of its capacity to produce the slightest sound or the most powerful sound, like a symphonic orchestra. It carries a rich history connected with Christian liturgy and worship.

Because of its complexity and preciseness, I find the organ both challenging and fun to play. I believe it is uniquely suited to support the voices of the congregation, and it is my very real joy to be able to accompany worshipers in their singing of our great hymns.

Pianist - Dottie Serio

Dottie has been the pianist at Northside Baptist for over 20 years.  She and her husband, Joey, live in the Clinton community and have two children, Adam, 19 and Elizabeth, 16.  Dottie received her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Carson-Newman College and went on to study piano/educaton at Southern Seminary.  She and her husband were the youth ministers at Northside for 7 - 8 years when their children were young and Dottie has also directed children's choirs in the past.  Her full-time job is Program Coordinator for Psycamore Partial Hospital, a day treatment facility for people struggling with depression and anxiety.

Sound Technicians - Ken Anderson, Stan Pope, Richard Ritchie
