Get Involved

How to Get Involved in the life of Northside Baptist Church:

1. Join the Church

2. Attend our Regular Quarterly Business Meetings (The second Sundays in February, August, and November. The third Sunday in May. All meetings at 6:00 p.m.)

3. Attend a Sunday School Class; come to Youth Group; come to 9:03 Club

4. Join us for Wednesday Night Supper and Activities

5. Join the Choir

6. Pray with us on Wednesday Mornings (at 9:30 a.m.)

7. Teach a Sunday School Class, join the Youth Ministry Team,  or lead a Wednesday Night Adult Study.

8. Create your own event! (Just recently members have individually led us to host two interfaith dinners with Jewish and Muslim friends. If you want to lead, we will try and help you get started.)

9. Recycle (Northside has a unique recycling ministry, and we need people to help us keep it organized. See the Missions Committee or the office for further information.)

10. Assist the Worship Committee with decorating the sanctuary in various seasons. Preparing a space for worship is a sacred work of hospitality.

 11. Read Scripture in worship. We read a lot of scripture, and we believe that the reading of scripture is an office for all the church - not just the clergy. Our readers work hard to prepare by studying the text and carefully considering its place in the larger service and church season. We will be glad to help you get involved in this regular weekly offering.

12. Cook for Wednesday Night Supper, for Youth Group, for Meals on Wheels, or for a sick or shut-in member. Read the Gospels and see how many of the most important occasions involve meals. Now consider how your cooking could be a way to deepen your involvement in our ministry.

 13. Help us Keep House. As a family, each of us bears responsibility for the space in which we meet. Keeping house is a vital part of our outreach to the community. Our members plant all the flowers, weed all the beds, and (more or less) keep all the closets clean. If you have skills in general maintanence and repair, we can always find important work for you.

14. Keep the nursery or assist with Extended Session. Is there any more sacred calling than to welcome and shelter children?
