Congregational Gathering

The Congregational Gathering at Camp Garaywa was the beginning of a conversation about God's future for our Church. That conversation will continue in "listening groups" which will take a very close look at the internal and external workings of this congregation. We are going to be looking for ways in which we are ready for Missional change. Those groups will meet four times between now and Spring Break. Written reports of these "conversations" will be given to the Deacons who will work through the reports to identify the particular challenges we face in order to engage in Missional change.

Opportunity Center - at Stewpot

The Missions Committee is asking the membership to bring items for the next few months to distribute through the Opportunity Center, a ministry of Stewpot. It is a day shelter in Jackson that provides homeless people with resources to take care of some of their basic needs. As a day shelter it offers showers, washers, dryers, clothing, and computer resources. It also offers a personal mailing address.

As the chill of the season changes to cold, we are encouraged to bring gloves, hats, and socks. Coats and jackets are already available in the Stewpot clothing closet - but goves, hats, and socks are needed.

We ontinue to collect towels and wash cloths for use at the Center. These items need not be new. We will also continue to collect toothbrushes, medium size toothpaste, disposable razors, small bars of soap, deodorant, and shampoo. Please place items in the basket in the narthex.
